It was a quick win for the Ukrainian Daniel Lapin to capture the WBA Intercontinental light-heavyweight title within the very first round.

Aussie star Nyika claimed the vacant IBF International cruiserweight title in his ninth fight, with a fourth-round stoppage over unbeaten German, Seitz.
Robin Safar W-PTS 10 Sergey Kovalev
In what was his first fight in two years, Kovalev was defeated on points, with one scorecard as wide as 90-99, after a knockdown in the final round.
Mark Chamberlain W-TKO 1 Joshua Wahab
Undefeated, heavy handed British Mark Chamberlain (16-0, 14KO) returned to Saudi Arabia to face the Nigerian Joshua Oluwaseun Wahab with the World Boxing Council lightweight silver belt at stake, as part of the card headlined by Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Arabia, Saudi.
Mark came into this fight after knocking out his compatriot Gavin Gwynne in Saudi Arabia in March.
Both began cautiously, tempering their power and gauging distance, then, Chamberlain surprised Wahab with a solid left hand that dropped him.
Bravely, Oluwaseun Wahab beat the count; however, Chamberlain buzzed him with a powerful combination from which he could not recover. In this way, Mark Chamberlain became WBC silver lightweight champion.
“I knew that Wahab was going to be a difficult fight. He had a very important record with only one defeat and had never been stopped. It was surprising to me the way it finished, it was actually the first solid hand I let go. Then I decided to end it by attacking with a strong combination.
I hope to return to Riyadh soon, I want to continue winning. Now that I am part of the WBC I am more motivated and the plan is to continue on this path to glory.
“I especially thank His Excellency Turki Alalshikh and my manager Frank Warren for believing in me.”
Moses Itauma W-TKO 2 Ilja Mezencev
The heavyweight sensation from Chatham, Kent, scored yet another quick KO to move up to 9-0. It’s his seventh stoppage win from nine fights, all of which have come within two rounds.
Agit Kabayel W-KO 7 Frank Sanchez
Frank Sánchez one of the best Cuban boxers pound for pound on history clashed with undefeated German Agit Kabayel, as part of the card headed by Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The match was a WBC eliminatory.
Sánchez came to this fight after knocking out Junior Fa in the seventh round on December, while Kabayel (24-0, 16 KOs) surprised the world with a knockout victory in the fourth round over until then undefeated Arslanbek Makhmudov.
The battle started with each throwing cluster bombs,, both pointedly looking for the KO victory. During round one Sanchez landed powerful combos, but during the second round Kabayel took the control, impacting hard and often.
From the third, Kabayel started drilling the body. Although Sanchez tried to counterattack, it was evident that the Kabayel offensive was having the desired, draining effect.
The end came in round seven, when Kabayel sent Sanchez to the canvass with a clubbing short range rib bender. The Cuban fighter managed to get up however, he walked into a hailstorm which again upended him.
Agit Kabayel improved his unbeaten record to 25-0 with 17 KO’s, conquered the WBC Heavyweight Continental Americas belt and won a WBC eliminator which places him ever closer to contesting the absolute crown.
Anthony Cacace W-TKO 8 Joe Cordina
Irishman Cacace was just too heavy handed for the Welshman, who was down in round three then stopped in the eighth.
Chief Support – From 10pm UK
Jai Opetaia W-UD 12 Mairis Briedis
Jai Opetaia prevailed on points to win back his IBF belt, that he never lost in the ring, with scores of 117-111, 116-112, 116-112.
Main Event – From 11pm UK
Oleksandr Usyk W-SD 12 Tyson Fury
It was a seesaw contest, that the Ukrainian was just always that bit more in control of.
Fury was the better boxer in the first half of the contest, but he struggled later when he was caught with a big left from Usyk in round eight, which saw him staggering backwards, falling into the ropes to eventually be ruled as a knockdown.
It was that pivotal moment that swung the momentum back towards the Ukrainian.
Despite winning the first round, Fury took over from the second to the seventh, which is when Usyk realised he had to step up a gear before the contest fell away from him.
Which is what he did. He threw caution to the ring landing that huge left hand to hurt the far bigger guy. After that, Usyk took over and Fury vanished, until he saw the urgency to rally back in the later rounds, winning the last round, but all too late for ‘The Gypsy King’.
The judges at ringside were split, with scores of 114-113 to both, but a wider 115-112 edged it Usyk on a split decision.
