Terence Crawford rages at rival Teofimo Lopez
Things could have got heated at Teofimo Lopez’s recent weight in when pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford gatecrashed and fired out an unapologetic expletive at the 140 lbs king.
Lopez was appearing at the press conference during the build-up to his showdown with Jamaine Ortiz. The fight will be the first defence of his WBO super-lightweight title and, during the conference, he was confronted by a highly-rated undercard fighter Keyshawn Davis, who claimed that Lopez had ‘disrespected him’ in a recent interview.
Crawford, whose trainer recently slammed the latest performance from Connor Benn, stormed into the media meet-up with one direct message for Lopez.
The moment when Crawford was asked what he thought of Lopez after seeing him weigh in was caught on camera by Fight Hub TV.
He gave a short, sharp response.
“Man, f**k Teo.”
Crawford has been stoking plenty of fires recently. The unified and former undisputed welterweight ruler is in pursuit of a huge fight for his next contest and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is top of his list. He would have to jump up an unprecedented 21 pounds to face the super-middleweight champion and recently took a swipe at Canelo’s last opponent Jermell Charlo who he said only took the fight for a payday.
Lopez looks to continue to build his resume after big wins over the likes of Vasyl Lomachenko with his fight with Ortiz which takes place on Thursday 8th February in Las Vegas to officially get the famous Super Bowl weekend underway.
