Anthony Joshua fires shots at Tyson Fury again
Anthony Joshua has a huge fight coming up this weekend but he has still spared some time to talk about a potential fight with Tyson Fury and has said that if he put him down, he wouldn’t let him get back up.
Joshua and Fury are long-time British heavyweight rivals but, as of yet, they have not fought each other. A contest between the two has been brewing for years and has seemingly been close once or twice only to eventually evade the fans.
But right now, should both men come through their next fights, they could well be on a collision course to meet later in the year in Saudi Arabia.
First, Joshua must beat Francis Ngannou, against whom Fury struggled to a 10-round points win last October. That fight is this weekend, while on May 18 Fury has a huge task when he faces Oleksandr Usyk, who has twice beat Joshua, for the undisputed titles.
In the meantime, Joshua, who has met with Fury’s father this week, has been speaking to DAZN.
“If I put Fury on his arse I wouldn’t let him get up. But everyone says he’s a generational great, Ngannou managed to do something no one expected so he’s done well, he’s a determined man. Everybody is looking to compare but I’m not worried abut what Fury done. Me and Fury are completely different beasts. ”
“I put my heart, my soul, my spirit, my mind, every last piece of my DNA into my fight camp. That’s why this fight is everything. There is nothing else. The goal is to beat him.”
There are just hours left to go until we find out whether he reaches his goal.
