Security had to pull KSI and Fury apart when they came face-to-face at X Series 007, which kicked off the rivalry.
Fury, the unbeaten professional boxer who saw off Jake Paul in his last fight, has vowed to humble KSI, who defeated unbeaten professional boxer, Joe Fournier, in his last outing in May.
But ‘The Nightmare’ has other ideas with KSI desperate to inflict a first defeat on Fury, showing Jake Paul how it’s done and sending shockwaves through the sport by delivering the biggest win ever seen in this space.
The fight will decide just who is top dog in the crossover scene.
What have they said?
KSI: “I came back to boxing to show the world the crazy levels I’m at. I’ve shown through obliterating all my past opponents that I am the best in this scene. KO after KO has now led me to the toughest fight in the influencer boxing scene. I’m fighting Tommy Fury. The man that defeated the once undefeated Jake Paul is now my opponent and I can’t wait to silence all the doubters that believe I have no chance. After this fight, you’ll understand that I truly am that guy.”
Tommy Fury: “I’ve already beaten Jake Paul and so all that is left for me to do is send this man to sleep. I’ll do that inside four rounds. This is easy money.”
Predictions
Tim RicksonBBN Editor: “I like Tommy Fury, but I don't rate his skills much as a pro boxer. I think he did well in the amateurs for such a short space of time – two regional titles and reaching national finals within 12 bouts – and kudos for being unbeaten as a pro so far, but when he talks about becoming a world champion, I'm not a believer. Even his ambitions of becoming British champion, I find hard to see. Obviously, I envisage him in the ring with the light-heavyweight champion, Dan Azeez, which of course would be a total mis-match, if it happened right now. At 24, he can continue to experience big platforms and pressure and make improvements to rise up the ladder, but I'm not sure he could ever win a major title in professional boxing, which is why, I assume, he is participating in crossover events like this instead of focusing on a pro boxing career. I haven't seen much of KSI, but he doesn't appear to have any boxing skills. He looks clumsy and awkward, but he does launch soe shots with speed, however they're telegraphed and can be easily dodged or caught. As a trained fighter with an amateur background, from a famous fighting family, Fury should win this bout against KSI with ease, but after scraping past Jake Paul, it's not a given. I'll pick Fury to win on points.”
