Conor Benn makes it clear he wants the winner of Amir Khan vs Kell Brook
Conor Benn aims to end 2021 in style when he faces Chris Algieri later this month.
Conor Benn will be an eager spectator when Amir Khan and Kell Brook finally settle their rivalry in February. Britain’s leading welterweights for the last few years will meet early next year and Benn, one of British boxing’s leading prospects, is ready to challenge the winner.
Benn, who faces Chris Algieri in Liverpool, live on DAZN, on December 11th, has slowly been climbing the rankings at 147lbs and is identified as one of the emerging names at welterweight. If he can get past Algieri, a former world champion at super-lightweight, Benn is targeting the winner of Khan vs. Brook as his next fight.
"I will fight the winner of that fight,” said Benn when speaking to Boxing Social. "They both reckon they are the best welterweights in Britain, I beg to differ. I don't know we will see how many people are actually still interested in it.
“I don't know how much speed Khan has got left and I don't know how much Kell Brook's timing is still there, you just don't know. I am leaning towards Kell because all Kell has got to do is land and he'll follow through, but I don't know. It is a 50/50 fight, and it is the same 50/50 fight it would have been years ago."
