The Ryan Garcia doping scandal continues now it’s been revealed that the products his team sent for testing could have been tampered with
Unfortunately for Garcia, he was unable to secure the WBC strap for himself after missing weight by three pounds and as a result having the belt taken off the line.
Garcia’s luck quickly turned from bad to worse when it was revealed after the fight, that the Golden Boy fighter tested positive for Ostarine the day before and on the day of the showdown.
Garcia, known for his online antics, as strongly denied any wrongdoing, blaming tainted supplements for his positive test results.
This would appear to be true after the products his team sent for testing have both since been found to contain the banned substance.
However, Victor Conte, who works alongside the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) has taken to social media to reveal that he remains sceptical towards Garcia’s cries of innocence.
“@Ryangarcia tested positive twice for Ostarine reported May 1, 2024. About May 15 two of his products were sent for testing. BOTH were positive for Ostarine. Seems to be NO RECEIPTS or CHAIN OF CUSTODY & both containers had BROKEN SEALS. IMO these are NOT CREDIBLE or ADMISSIBLE results.
“How @ryangarcia team can obtain credible supplement test results. Locate same lot # for BOTH of the SUSPECTED products & have them shipped directly to the lab SEALED. If results are positive for Ostarine for BOTH PRODUCTS then you will have chain of custody & admissible test results.
“Why did @ryangarcia test powders from UNSEALED containers W/O chain of custody? IMO it seems possible that tampering may be involved. Strange that TWO products BOTH tested positive for Ostarine. This isn’t how credible science is conducted. These results cannot be authenticated.
“Why did @ryangarcia not fully disclose there are NO PRODUCT RECEIPTS available & both containers had broken seals? The laboratory that did the tests gave a “disclaimer” about the credibility of results. IMO this is likely an attempt to pull a fast on the world of boxing.
“My prediction is @ryangarcia will NOT have samples tested from SEALED tubs of the two products he claims exposed him two Ostarine. Both products of same lot # should be purchased & sent directly to the WADA lab. If done I predict SEALED products would be negative for Ostarine.”
‘King Ry’ has since responded, stating that the samples couldn’t have been sealed, since they were the exact products he used in the runup to the fight. He has since gone on to reveal that he is currently preparing lawsuits to take action against the creators of the tainted supplements.
