Omar “Trini” Trinidad’s TKO triumph
Unbeaten prospect Omar Trinidad (16-0-1, 13KO) scored a 10th round knockout after flooring Viktor Slavinskyi twice during their fight on Saturday, July 27th’s 360 Boxing Promotions card in Commerce, America.
With this latest victory, 28-year-old Trinidad retained his WBC Continental Americas featherweight title.
Although the Ukrainian was evasive and difficult, LA’s Trinidad showed great offense and perseverance.
The end came at 2:31 of the 10th round, crowning a fight in which Trinidad stayed one step ahead at all times, the winner set his own pace from the start, landing important blows that kept Slavinskyi on the defensive.
In the eighth round, Trini landed a powerful right that sent Slavinskyi against the ropes, causing the referee to start a count.
He remained determined to leave no doubt among the judges, continuing to be aggressive, landing a right hook that left Slavinskyi unable to get up from.
