Boxlan prospects Kaipo Gallegos and Ronny Alvarez both score knockout wins
Rising undefeated stars Kaipo Gallegos (11-0-1, 9 KOs) and Ronny Alvarez (6-0, 5 KOs) delivered dominant performances this past Saturday night, electrifying the crowd with impressive knockout victories on the undercard of Matchroom Boxing’s latest show. The event took place live from the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas.
Fighting in a scheduled six-round lightweight bout, Las Vegas native Gallegos, who is co-promoted with Boxlab Promotions and Shuan Boxing, showcased poise, precision, and power, stopping Wilson Akinocho (3-1) via third-round TKO. Moments earlier, super middleweight Alvarez, who is promoted by Boxlab Promotions, Warriors Boxing and Dreambigg Promotions, capped off a dominant outing of his own, scoring a sixth-round TKO over Braulio Matias Ferreira (6-0, 5 KOs) in another six-round contest.
Both fighters left no doubt they are ready for the next level. Following his explosive finish, Gallegos reflected on the performance that brought the hometown crowd to its feet. “This is exactly how I wanted to look,” said Gallegos on scoring a TKO with an electrifying performance as he spoke with confidence and hunger. “I felt sharp, calm, and in control from the opening bell. When I saw the opening, I jumped on it. I want fans to expect excitement every time I step in the ring.”
The young lightweight has long spoken about his ambition to reach the sport’s elite, and Saturday night felt like a step closer. “I dream big because I work big,” he continued about his dreams of becoming the next big star in the division. “I want to be a world champion, and I want to be a name fans remember. Nights like this are how that journey really starts.”
Gallegos also acknowledged the importance of the moment in the bigger picture on what this win did for his career. “This win gives me momentum and confidence. Being on a stage like this shows me I belong here. I’m ready for tougher challenges. I want to be back as soon as possible. The more I fight, the better I get. I’m healthy, motivated, and ready whenever my team says go.”
Not to be outdone, Ronny Alvarez delivered a relentless performance, wearing down Ferreira before forcing a sixth-round stoppage. “I stayed patient and trusted my training,” said Alvarez on scoring his TKO in dominant fashion. “Once I started breaking him down, I knew it was only a matter of time. I wanted to send a message, and I think I did that.”
The southpaw prospect believes his time is coming—and he’s determined to seize it. “I want to be one of the faces of my division,” continued Alvares on his dream of becoming a breakout star. “I’m young, hungry, and I’m learning every fight. This is just the beginning of what I plan to show. This win tells me I’m on the right path. Every fight is a step closer to where I want to be, and I’m grateful for these opportunities.”
With confidence high, Alvarez echoed his stablemate’s desire to stay active. “I want to get right back in there,” he concluded. “I feel great, and I want to keep building. The more eyes on me, the better.”
Boxlab Promotions President Amaury Piedra believes the future is extremely bright for both fighters. “Kaipo and Ronny represent the new generation of boxing talent,” said Piedra. “They combine discipline, intelligence, and genuine passion for the sport. Their performances on Saturday were not accidents, they are the result of thoughtful development and commitment. I firmly believe both have the tools to become major stars in boxing.”
With statement-making performances under the bright lights of Las Vegas, Kaipo Gallegos and Ronny Alvarez proved they are more than just prospects—they are names to watch as boxing’s next wave continues to rise. Las Vegas fills its calendar with far more than boxing now, and the city’s race weekend pulls a similar crowd toward F1 betting.
