“I’m a massive advocate for strong women in and outside of the ring” – Sarah Higginson ready for WBC Title Clash March 13 in Perth
Friday the 13th of March, Dragon Fire Boxing hits the Metro City Arena for the first time this year for Thunderdome 53 with a stacked card.
One of the main events features a much-anticipated trilogy for the WBC Australasia Flyweight Womens Championship featuring Holly McMath taking on Sarah Higginson for a third time in a row.
Highly-decorated Higginson is a former W.A State, ANBF Australasian & WBA Oceania Champion, and now looks to add WBC Australasia silverware to her trophy cabinet.
Higginson opened up about her familiar foe, “She is fast, jab-jab-jab and run. Love to see her sit and trade.
“I’m a massive advocate for strong women in and outside of the ring and I’ve continued to encourage other women to do what’s right for them, but this time I need to do what’s right for me and to be given this opportunity to stand in front of my home town and fight for a WBC belt… this is a home run! But I ain’t running around the ring.
“People will continue to provide them with their opinions, should you take the advise yes if it is in line with what you believe if not trash it and move on. Back at Thunderdome once again, and it’s nice that my followers get to it see it once again. I’m also one to bring out the best in a fight whether I win, lose or draw”.
One of the main events of the evening features rising prospect Owen “Bomber” Corrigan (4-0, 2 KOs), as the undefeated Irish boxer takes on Micah “Mad Dog” Rivetti (6-18, 2 KOs) for the Western Australian State light-heavyweight championship.
