DAZN will broadcast a World heavyweight title fight in March
This month’s Mahmoud Charr (34-4, 20KO) vs Kubrat Pulev (30-3, 14KO) WBA World Regular heavyweight title fight will be shown live on DAZN following an agreement reached between Epic Sports & Entertainment and the global broadcasters.
The World championship clash between Charr and Pulev takes place on March 30, 2024, at the Arena Sofia, Sofia, Bulgaria.
Managed by Erol Ceylan, Syrian-born Charr hasn’t fought since December 2022, but was miraculously able to reclaim his WBA Regular belt via a court hearing, despite last defending it over six years ago.
The German national has lost four fights during his 19-year career, but is unbeaten in close to nine years now, but has only fought six fights within that time.
World title contender, Pulev, 42 from Bulgaria, was beaten by Derek Chisora in their 2022 rematch. He came back to beat Andrzej Wawrzyk in December 2023, so was only active in the ring just three months ago.
John Wirt, President of Epic Sports, said: “We are thrilled to be in business with DAZN and are excited that boxing fans around the world will have the opportunity to witness live the first-ever heavyweight world championship being held in Bulgaria.
“We will announce the full undercard shortly but can confirm that the co-feature bout will be between Kubrat’s brother, former Olympic bronze medalist Trevel Pulev, versus Rolly Lambert Fogoum.”
