Usyk odds-on to repeat the win over Fury in rematch
Oleksandr Usyk is odds-on with William Hill to win his undisputed rematch with Tyson Fury.
Following the confirmation of December 21st 2024 as the date for the fight, Usyk is the 4/7 favourite to retain his titles.
Despite entering the first bout as 4/5 favourite, the Brit will head to Riyadh as the 6/4 underdog, whilst a draw at 14/1 will be no good to him as he seeks to regain his belts.
William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “The first bout between Fury and Usyk certainly didn’t disappoint and we’re predicting a similar outcome in Riyadh later this year, with the Ukrainian our early 4/7 favourite to retain his undefeated, undisputed status.
“The Gypsy King went as short as 1/10 in-play last time around, so will be as fired up as ever heading into the rematch. If at his best, then his 6/4 underdog status may well prove good value.
“With Usyk seeking to defend his titles, a draw, priced at 14/1, would not be the worst result for him, whilst Fury will surely be going all-out for the win.”
Oleksandr Usyk v Tyson Fury 2:
Usyk: 4/7
Draw: 14/1
Fury: 6/4
BBN Editor, Tim Rickson, added his thoughts: “The first fight for was razor thin, for me. I believe Tyson was stronger in the first half then Usyk came back in the second section, but there were a couple of swing rounds too. I had Usyk winning, just, but only due to the 10-8 round. Otherwise, I had it about 6-6 on rounds.
“In the rematch, Usyk has the upper hand knowing he can hurt his opponent despite the size difference. But Fury knows this too, he had Usyk hurt early with body shots but didn’t capitalise. Next time, I’m sure there will be more urgency.
“The last time that Tyson didn’t get a win, he came back in the rematch and smashed Wilder in seven one-sided rounds. I believe that he and SugarHill Steward will plan to that in the rematch. I’m going with Tyson to win by knockout.”
