Tyson Fury reportedly lacked something vital in the days leading up to Francis Ngannou clash
Francis Ngannou has another chance to shock the boxing world this Friday, March 8, as he gets ready to step into the ring against Anthony Joshua in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The UFC Legend will be looking to win on Friday so that he can then avenge his hotly debated points loss to Tyson Fury, last October.
Despite losing the fight, the Cameroonian won the hearts of fans across the globe, putting on a spectacular performance against the WBC champion, scoring a knockdown in the third round and winning on one judge’s scorecards.
It would not be wishful thinking to expect another tantalising evening in Riyadh on Friday, with Joshua and Ngannou both gearing up for a firefight, claiming that they will be coming forward all guns blazing tomorrow evening.
It’s since been widely reported that Tyson rather unprofessionally didn’t train adequately for his crossover fight with Ngannou, and paid the price with a poor performance, but now it’s been revealed that wasn’t the only reason.
Spencer Brown, manager of Tyson Fury, has revealed exactly why the heavyweight appeared to struggle in the ring against the Cameroonian.
“He never slept for three days on the spin. That was the reason for the bad performance. You can take that how you want but I was there and saw it all, couldn’t sleep,” Brown said to Boxing King Media
“We’ve cured that now because we’ve gone through a new camp and it’s wonderful. Marvellous, you can sleep as much as you want.
“Don’t go to sleep for three days, see how you feel. I’m sure you’ve done that in your party days.”
Looking ahead to tomorrow’s event, Brown revealed he expects ‘AJ’ to prevail.
“I think Joshua wins on points, that’s my prediction. He has a couple (of scary moments) maybe, maybe. Do we know a lot more about Ngannou now? Yes, we do. He doesn’t fall for feints but Anthony Joshua don’t feint, does he?
“He’s a straight-forward, come-forward fighter isn’t he? He’s on you and he wants to try knock you out. I’ll tell you what he is: he’s a monster.”
