Bets flood in for Tyson Fury to KO Oleksandr Usyk
One month out from Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk 2, over half of all bets placed with William Hill are on Fury to win by KO, TKO, or DQ.
This surprising flurry of betting activity is in stark contrast to the contest where the only knockdown was scored by Usyk, when he caught Fury heavily on the temple with a long left hook, that staggered the British behemoth all around the ring until he was propped up by the ropes, resulting in a knockdown counting against him in round nine.
That 10-8 round to the Ukrainian was pivotal in edging the result on a split decision victory to Usyk.
Fury is the 13/10 underdog for December’s bout but 63% of bets so far have been placed on Fury to win, with 53% on the Gypsy King to stop Usyk before the final bell at 11/4.
Despite the weight of money for Fury, Usyk remains the odds-on favourite at 8/13.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “We’re now just a month out from Fury v Usyk 2 and punters are latching onto a Fury comeback, with almost two thirds of bets being laid on the Gypsy King to avenge May’s loss.
“The public seem to fancy Fury to get the job done within 12 rounds too, with over half of all bets placed on Fury to win by KO, TKO, or DQ.
“The most popular round for Fury to win is the fifth, but as the 8/13 favourite Usyk will be hoping to take it a lot further than that.
