Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk set to earn even more money from rematch
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are gearing up for their festive fight night on December 21 in Saudi Arabia.
31 weeks ago, the pair made history when they clashed in the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, over 12 close rounds, which resulted in Ukrainian Usyk edging a split decision victory.
For that first fight in May, the heavyweight champions competed for a reported purse of £115 million. Fury was understood to have taken the lion’s share at £85 million, with Usyk earning £30 million.
For the rematch, reports claim the pair will be sharing a fight purse of £150 million, which is £45 million more than before.
As the victor and defending champion, Usyk should be taking home the larger percentage this time, now that it’s his turn as the A-side attraction.

Predictions
Wayne Alexander British, European, World champion: “I believe this this fight will end in a more convincing win for Usyk, I believe that Tyson Fury is at the very end of his career, his punch resistance and defence is not what it used to be and the trilogy with Deontay Wilder has taken a lot out of him.
“Usyk will probably win this one by a unanimous decision and it wouldn’t surprise me if Tyson suffers his first stoppage defeat.”
Mike Tyson Undisputed & 2x world heavyweight champion: “Usyk is the best heavyweight in the world at the moment. But I’m going for Fury to beat him. Why? Because I’m a fan. Because his father gave him my name. I’m not abandoning him now.”
