The WBC have released their May 2024 ratings and recognised all the new entrants
The World Boxing Council congratulated all the new boxers who entered their May 2024 ratings, based on their efforts and results.
The WBC ratings have been published month by month since 1968. They consist of the top 40 boxers from all divisions.
The ratings committee is composed of a director, an assistant director, an executive secretary and 22 experts, who are experienced members from many nations around the world, dedicated to compiling the results of fights and important information to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the fighters’ achievements, in order to define their position in the WBC’s lists.
This month saw Londoner Masood Abdulah (10-0, 6KO) and Liverpool’s Peter McGrail (9-1, 5KO) break into the top 40 in the world, based on their recent victories.
Abdulah, 30 from Islington, defeated Qais Ashfaq in February via a fifth-round TKO, while Olympian McGrail, 27, decisioned former British champion Marc Leach in style over 10 rounds on April 27.
