Turki Alalshikh applies for an extension to break a record at Wembley
British heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois will face each other on September 21 at the iconic Wembley Stadium, England.
On the same card, the World Boxing Council Silver Middleweight Champion, Hamzah Sheeraz, will defend his title against the in-form European champion Tyler Denny.
His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, who has strived to make the biggest fights in boxing possible, is determined to break a record at Wembley Stadium.
Turki took to social media to announce that Riyadh Season has requested an extension of capacity at Wembley Stadium for the upcoming Joshua vs Dubois headliner on September 21, seeking to break the record for the largest attendance for a boxing card at Wembley.
“Due to high fan demand, we have requested to expand the capacity of Wembley Stadium for the highly anticipated fight between Joshua and Dubois on #RiyadhSeasonCard Wembley Edition. We are looking forward to setting a record attendance in boxing history at Wembley Stadium.”
The April 2022 heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte currently holds the record for the largest attendance at Wembley with 94,000 fans, who saw Fury knock out Whyte in the sixth round with an hellacious uppercut.
