Wembley Stadium played host to a record-breaking crowd
On Saturday night, September 21, Wembley Stadium broke records for largest attendance for a boxing event in Europe.
Almost 100,000 fans packed in to the England national football stadium in London to watch IBF World heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois destroy Anthony Joshua in five rounds.
The exact amount of spectators was calculated and revealed by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, “I just been informed that the final attendance number today at Wembley was 98,128.”
Despite falling to a fourth defeat, AJ has vowed to continue in his quest to become a three-time world champion.
Dubois is now in line to face the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury, who lock horns for a second time in December.
Agit Kabayel and Martin Bakole are the next top-rated contenders in the heavyweight division, but it’s widely expected for Dubois to take a break after fighting three times in nine months.
