Tony Bellew names heavyweight he believes is most avoided
Former world champion turned keen boxing historian and DAZN pundit Tony Bellew has revealed who he thinks is the most avoided fighter in the sport.
Bellew remains closely connected to the boxing scene since retiring off the back of two pay-per-view victories over David Haye a few years ago.
Now, he has revealed his view about an avoided fighter in a post on X by replying to Michael Hunter’s recent fight announcement with a specific hashtag.
“Best of luck champ! You deserve a break! #MostAvoidedFighter”
It is a long way to travel from his native US in order to stay busy but is something he must do if he wants to chase the big fights.
His early career saw him take on the likes of Oleksandr Usyk, to whom he lost in 2017, as well as Martin Bakole, Aleksandr Ustinov and Sergey Kuzmin whom he beat in 2018, while he drew with Alexander Povetkin in 2019 and has since fought only five times against lower level opposition despite often calling out plenty of top stars.
