Trainer names two boxers Terence Crawford could beat in the same night
Undefeated three-weight world champion Terence Crawford is one of the best pound-for-pounder fighters in the world right now, so good that his trainer named two men he thinks he could beat in the same night.
Last time out, 36-year-old Crawford despatched of welterweight champion Errol Spence in fantastic fashion, stopping his man in the ninth round of a 50-50 undisputed clash to claim all four world titles in a division for the second time.
He is now waiting to see if there will be a contracted rematch as he looks for his next opponent after recently turning up at the Teofimo Lopez weight in with words to say.
Two men in his division are to fight soon on Amazon and they are the fast-rising Australian Tim Tszyu and former welterweight champion Keith Thurman.
Speaking to FightHype, Crawford’s coach Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre was asked to assess the fight.
“I think personally it’s going to be a good fight. Tszyu has the momentum cause Keith’s been off for a while so it’s going to be tough. If anything I see the fight going towards Tim Tszyu ’cause he has the momentum and Keith has been off for a while.”
He was asked if the recent form made Tszyu a huge favourite, but ‘BoMac’ denied that.
“Boxing is just like riding a bike. Thurman has been on the high level for many many years, amateurs to pros, it’s just like riding a bike.”
He was then asked about the winner of that fight getting a shot at his man Crawford and the answer was conclusive.
“I think Bud would beat them both in the same night!”
Though unlikely to happen, it would be an interesting one to watch.
