Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol will be free for some U.S. subscribers
As Beterbiev-Bivol approaches, it is quickly becoming clear that this event is of global interest to both hardcore and casual fans. However, in a shock twist, a surprise broadcaster has been confirmed to those wishing to view the card in the United States, possibly hinting a reason as to why the undisputed light-heavyweight bout has been difficulty to put together in the past.
The allure of the undisputed light-heavyweight title fight is enough to attract fans to what is sure to be a generational contest that cements the legacy of either Artur Beterbiev or Dmitry Bivol, in what appears on paper to be a true 50/50 match-up. Although, to draw even more eyes to the card, Turki Alalshikh added the idea of a one-of-a-kind undercard that pits five of Eddie Hearn’s ‘Matchroom’ fighters against five of Frank Warren’s ‘Queensberry’ stable.
As a result, there is jeopardy involved for both promoters and fighters alike and the inclusion of the return of Deontay Wilder, the heavyweight title affair between Filip Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois, and the featherweight title bout between Ray Ford and Nick Ball make the card an attractive one from top to bottom, that true boxing fans can not afford to miss.
On social media, esteemed boxing journalist Dan Rafael revealed that although the event will be available for purchase on DAZN PPV around the world, U.S. viewers will instead be forced to watch on ESPN+.
Per sourcers, unless something dramatically changes, this is going to be weird viewing in the US. #BeterbievBivol will on ESPN+. The rest of the card in the US will be via DAZN PPV. It was important to Top Rank that the main event undisputed fight be free for ESPN+ subscribers. https://t.co/2bSs2lOswa
