Kalle Sauerland believes Wayne Rooney fight will sell out Wembley Stadium
Promoter Kalle Sauerland thinks he knows a perfect opponent for Wayne Rooney’s boxing debut and has claimed that it would ‘sell out Wembley.’
Rooney has long been a boxing fan, has often been seen ringside at high level fights and has been involved in video clips sparring that have done the rounds on social media over the years.
Earlier in 2024 it was revealed that he was in talks with Misfits about a potential first fight, and the man himself later neither confirmed nor denied the rumours while promoter Eddie Hearn suggested that a fight between him and Jake Paul would see the former Manchester United, Everton, England and Derby striker come out with a win.
Now, Wasserman’s Sauerland has been talking to TalkSport and claimed that he knows who he would fight in order to sell out the vast Wembley Stadium on his debut.
“You look at Wayne and think if anyone would have a tear up who has been a footballer it’s Wayne. I didn’t know about the messages to KSI, that’s an interesting one. We’ve all sent drunken late night messages but I’ve never offered someone out at Wembley Stadium but the think it would fill it out.”
KSI would head into any potential fight with more experience having already faced the likes of Tommy Fury and Jake Paul in high profile bouts.
