The ex-wife of Ryan Garcia is extremely concerned for his mental health right now
Andrea Célina has pleaded for support for her ex-husband following a series of uncharacteristic moments from the super-lightweight title challenger during the build-up to his fight with Devin Haney.
12 months on from a first career defeat, ‘King Ry’ is poised to challenge for world honours for the first time during his career, taking on Haney in a bid for the WBC title at 140lbs.
However, as the fight date edges closer, there is growing concern for Garcia’s mental wellbeing, after several confusing posts on his social media accounts, that have left fans questioning whether he is playing mind games or is in need of serious help.
Garcia previously posted a photo of himself smoking marijuana and in recent days shared a post stating ‘this might be curtains’ and one captioned ‘Ryan Garcia – R.I.P. B**TH’.
On her Instagram, Célina spoke of her concern, with Ryan Garcia’s previous public troubles with mental health only adding to suspicions that this is not a part of an act for the 25-year-old.
“All [of] my followers who are believers, can you please pray for Ryan.
We are not together and I’ve been in contact with him and he may seem fine but he is not.
I know in my hear he is being heavily oppressed. This is not a troll, I’m genuinely concerned and so is all his family members. We are not part of any of this and want him to get better but this IS REAL. Pray for him.”
For now, Haney-Garcia is scheduled to take place on April 20th, although with Garcia’s mental health a priority, many fans expect that the severity of his troubles, if they are true, will rightfully lead to the cancellation of the bout.
