Roy Jones Jr shares his thoughts on the potential Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn fight
Roy Jones Jr spoke with Betway and previewed the possible showdown between rivals Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn.
When asked who he thinks could win the matchup, RJJ said, “It’s a great fight. I get that Chris Eubank Jr is the bigger fighter but that’s a really good fight. It all depends.
“I do think Eubank’s style and size will be effective but that’s not the only thing because with Conor Benn, like his father, is a puncher and he will do whatever he can when that fight starts, and when that bell rings anything can happen.
“I like Eubank for his style and size, but you cannot rule out Conor Benn in that fight. Conor is a live fighter just like his father was. I know Conor Benn is a live dog in that fight so size may not be the biggest factor in it.”
On whether he would be open to working with Chris again, Jones Jr was adamant, “I think Chris should stay with the guy who trained him for this fight, he looked good with him and should stay with him.”
The Brighton boxer was trained by RJJ between 2020-2023, but is now under the guidance of Johnathan Banks, who has also worked with Wladimir Klitschko, Gennady Golovkin and Dillian Whyte.
