Ricky Hatton picks his winner of Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou fight this Friday
Former world champion Ricky Hatton has picked out his winner of this Friday’s Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou fight, but has admitted to being ‘worried’ for his fellow Brit.
Joshua is in good form right now. In 2023, he knocked out Robert Helenius and Otto Wallin, and defeated American prospect Jermaine Franklin unanimously. It was his first time fighting three times within a year since he first became a world champion in 2016, leading many to believe the old AJ is back.
He did much better than expected by putting Fury on the canvas in round three but ran out a narrow points loser after 10 rounds.
Speaking to Instant Casinos, ‘Hitman’ Hatton has now shared his views on the fight and seems a little uncertain how it might go given how well Ngannou did last year, and given the famous power that he carries.
“It is a very interesting fight because AJ, as much as we love him, he can get hit and hurt. This could be a tricky night.
“Normally, from a defensive point of view, Fury is a lot harder to hit than AJ. I mean, AJ can sometimes be in front of you a little bit too much, which worries me in the Ngannou fight a little bit.
“There’s every chance that if Ngannou lands clean he could win, but if you’re asking me where my last pound would go, I think it’d be on AJ.”
