Matchroom Boxing have added two more fighters to the highly anticipated April showdown
Barrett will be fighting on home soil in the April meeting, with the winner of the bout likely to be granted a shot at World title glory.
Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing is promoting the all-British clash with the fight to be aired on DAZN.
Details of the undercard have slowly been trickling out after the bout was first announced in January. Two new additions to the undercard have just been announced, with two undefeated prospects given the chance to continue to bolster their growing records.
Matchroom Boxing took to Twitter to announce that Jimmy Sains (3-0, 3KOs) and Jack Turner (5-0, 5KOs) will be stepping between the ropes in April. Both fighters’ opponents have yet to be announced.
23-year-old Sains has had a glistening start to his professional career. The London-based fighter made the jump into the professional ranks in September last year and has yet to be taken the distance. His last outing in February, against Alejandro Avalos, saw him land a stunning right hand in the closing seconds of the first round, rendering his opponent unable to continue, and forcing the referee to wave off the bout.
The youngster has showcased impressive ring IQ in his maiden year in the professional scene, possessing an unpredictable toolkit, Sains mixes up head and body shots, throwing all with devastating power.
The second prospect to be announced on the card, Jack Turner, has had an equally impressive start to his professional career. Turner faced off against Selemani Bangaiza on Saturday, continuing his streak of terrifying first-round stoppages.
‘El Terrier’ has yet to be taken out of the first round, continuing his streak on Saturday as he knocked down his Tanzanian opponent three times in the opening minute, eventually leaving Bangaiza crumpled on the canvas.
Elsewhere on the card, impressive prospect Cameron Vuong (4-0, 3KOs) will be making his return to the ring. The flashy youngster will face off against Jordan Flynn in what could be his toughest fight to date.
