Mike Tyson posts training footage and jokes: “The fun has just begun”
It’s a fight that has very much split opinion but Mike Tyson has now officially begun training for his unusual match-up with Jake Paul in the summer and says, ‘The fun has just begun.’
Tyson last fought in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr in 2020 but has not fought competitively since he retired after back-to-back losses in 2005.
Jake Paul, however, is very much an active fight who is showing improvement with each small step up, though he is yet to face anyone with even the faded qualities of Tyson.
He most recently took his professional record to 9-1 with a second consecutive first-round knockout win when he stopped Ryan Bourland (now 17-2) earlier this month.
A new video posted on Tyons’s Instagram account shows footage of him at work as he starts preparations for this upping contest.
Given his age, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson looks in good shape with plenty of muscle definition in both his legs and torso. He can be seen throwing the hellacious hooks that defined much of his career and brought him many of his quick and impressive knockouts, and his famously quick side-to-side movement and pigeon-toed style are there for all to see.
Quite whether a man now as well known for smoking weed and running a cannabis business can replicate the speed and movement he shows in this video over the course of a 10 or 12-round fight is yet to be seen.
