One of the sport’s hottest properties has signed a promotional agreement with KSI’s Misfits Boxing
The electric Amir ‘Cashman’ Anderson, among the most decorated athletes in American amateur boxing history, will make his professional debut on Saturday, August 10 in Miami, as part of KSI’s Misfits Boxing’s huge X Series 16 event, shown live around the world on DAZN.
KSI officially launches Anderson’s pro career with a stunning list of credentials and has been hailed as an “amazing addition” to the ranks of the world’s leading crossover boxing promotion, Misfits Boxing.
20-year-old Anderson is a 10-time national amateur champion, a former No.1 in three weight divisions with the USA Boxing Elite squad and an Olympic Games Team Trials winner.
But ‘Cashman’ is now focused on following in the footsteps of his idols Floyd Mayweather Jnr, Terence Crawford and Roy Jones Junior, and becoming a global star in the professional code, under the guidance of megastar KSI.
Managed by his long-time trainer Chris Burns, New York-native Anderson will make his highly anticipated pro debut in a five-round contest in Magic City, this summer.
Amir Anderson said: “I am truly grateful for the opportunity to sign with the Misfits Boxing team and KSI.
“I believe the sport of boxing is changing, and I’m excited to be a part of this change with Misfits Boxing and a team who has shown an amazing ability to connect with viewers of my generation.
“I look forward to my first fight on August 10, and everything beyond. I’m ready to show out.”
Mams Taylor, Co-President of Misfits Boxing, said: “Amir has shown tremendous dedication and grit throughout his career and is an amazing addition to the Misfits Boxing team.
“As we continue to grow and diversify our organization, we are excited to take things to the next level with Amir and have no doubt he will quickly climb the professional ranks.”
Kalle Sauerland, Co-President of Misfits Boxing, said: “Amir Anderson is a hugely significant signing for Misfits Boxing.
“This young man has enjoyed a stellar amateur career and has all the ingredients to become a world champion in the pro ranks.
“But more than that, Amir has the ability and charisma to become boxing’s next genuine crossover star for the new generation.”
Anderson ends his amateur career as the top ranked male light heavyweight, and after consecutive national championships at 156lbs, 165lbs, and 176lbs, the amateur standout will debut as a middleweight in his first pro fight.
KSI and Misfits Boxing’s latest recruit will carry on training in Syracuse, NY, where he began his boxing career at the age of seven, as well continuing to serve as an amateur coach for the young boxers at the West Area Athletic & Education Center.
