Keyshawn Davis “would love to fight in the UK” and sees Adam Azim as potential opponent
Davis (10-0, 7KOs) added another impressive win to his growing record on February 8 as he outpointed, and broke down two-time world champion Jose Pedraza, before stopping him in the 6th round.
Just 10 fights into his career and the young American sits comfortably in the top 15 of the WBC, IBF, and WBO lightweight rankings.
The American prospect known as ‘The Busniessman’, Davis has never had a professional bout in the UK but has trained in the country as an amateur.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the 24-year-old revealed his love for the country and appears eager to stage a fight there in the future.
“I love the UK. I fell in love with the UK when I was out there training for the world championships and I got a chance to see Lomachenko vs Luke Campbell at the O2 Arena. That was Legendary, and what surprised me the most was guys was knowing me back then, in 2019!
“It just blew my mind that I’m in a whole other country as an amateur and peoples asking to take pictures with me. Like before the Olympics, before I went to the World Championships. It just shows how much the UK is involved in boxing. I would love to fight in the UK man.”
It appears another young up-and-comer from across the water has caught ‘The Businessman’s’ attention.
“People keep talking about Adam [Azim]. Adam if you willing to fight, let’s make the fight happen. For your fans, for our fans, for the boxing world. Let’s make the fight happen man. Let’s do it.”
The two rising stars are at similar stages in their career, Azim (11-0, 8KOs) is also coming off the back of a recent win, going five rounds with Enock Poulsen before the Danish hopeful was forced to retire from the bout due to a shoulder injury.
