Kevin Brown vs Idalberto Umara headlines “Night of Champions”
Headlining the event titled “Night of Champions” is a 10-round WBA Continental super-lightweight title clash between unbeaten sensation Kevin Hayler Brown (4-0, 3KO) and Idalberto Umara (12-2, 8KO).
Kevin Brown, from Camaguey, Cuba, now training out of Las Vegas with coach Ismael Salas, is on the fast track to a world title, starting tonight as he challenges for his first regional belt.
In the 30-year-old’s pro debut, he dived head first into an eight-rounder against a 44-bouter, winning via TKO 2. He has since had three 10-round contests, this being his fourth 10-rounder and first title fight – all within nine months.
In the eight-round heavyweight co-main event, Gurgen Hovhannisyan (5-0, 5 KOs) battles Luis Pascual (19-10, 17 KOs). All the action takes place at the Caribe Royale Hotel in Orlando, Florida, on May 31, 2024.
On the undercard, Pittsburgh’s Matt Conway (22-3, KO) battles unbeaten Dominican Hendri Cedeno (12-0, 10KO) over eight-rounds at super-lightweight.
