Keith Thurman reportedly injured for Tim Tszyu clash on March 30
Just 12 days ahead of PBC’s debut fight night with Amazon Prime Video and it appears the promotion could be poised for a disastrous start, as reports suggest that Keith Thurman is going to pull out of the main-event against Tim Tszyu.
Thurman has fought just once since losing his WBA welterweight title to Manny Pacquiao back in 2019, that being a unanimous-decision win against Mario Barrios over two years ago.
However, ‘One Time’ was offered the opportunity to move up in weight and challenge WBO champion Tim Tszyu, who would be stripped of his belt if he were to lose, despite his title not being on the line.
However, whispers have begun to emerge that Thurman has picked up an injury and will be withdrawing from the contest, leaving the Aussie without an opponent, according to esteemed boxing journalist, Dan Rafael.
Per source involved in the event: Keith Thurman has some sort of injury & March 30 fight is in doubt. “How many times have you seen a fighter go to the doctor 12 days before a fight for an injury and the fight go through? It doesn’t look good,” source said. #ThurmanTszyu#boxing

With no announcement official as of yet, it remains to be seen whether the card will go ahead, despite three further world title bouts scheduled for the undercard.
If it were to go ahead, it would be expected that Rolando Romero’s first defence of his WBA super-lightweight title against Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz becomes the main-event, assuming that a short-notice replacement cannot be found for a fight with Tszyu by next weekend.
For now, Tszyu-Thurman remains up in the air, less than two weeks’ away.
