Juergen Uldedaj SELLS OUT Iconic York Hall venue in 24 hours
Occasionally a fighter emerges whose popularity is matched only by their ceiling of potential.
On Saturday 10th February, highly-rated Juergen Uldedaj (15-1, 6KO) makes his second appearance at London’s York Hall and third appearance in the UK, this time on a Goodwin Boxing show.
Having single-handedly sold out the venue within 24 hours of tickets going on sale, never has the York Hall sold out as quickly.
Born in Albania and residing in Germany, 26-year-old Juergen Uldedaj has partnered with legendary London trainer Don Charles in his quest to pick up world cruiserweight honours.
In only 16 bouts, the man with six knockout victories has already picked up Youth honours with both the WBC and WBO. Now both he and trainer Charles are planning a big 2024.
That all starts on 10th February, where Juergen Uldedaj will be facing Frenchman John Franck Mendy for the IBO Mediterranean Cruiserweight title under the famous Bethnal Green lights.
The fight has attracted the attention of his army of fans, setting a record for the fastest selling show at York Hall and being picked up for broadcast live on Albanian TV, amongst other national networks.
Don Charles
“This kid is honestly different class,” praised trainer Don Charles. “Since I’ve been working with him there are huge improvements, but he’s got incredible natural talent. We just need to harness that, and we’ll show what we have been working on against Mendy.
“Expect fireworks and the cruiserweight division to take notice – we’re taking Juergen to world titles!”
Working exclusively with Goodwin Boxing in the UK, there are aims for Uldedaj to showcase his talents throughout both Germany and Albania throughout the year, as he aims to make his mark in the exciting cruiserweight division.
With UK interest in Chris Billam-Smith holding the WBO world title, is there potential to see Uldedaj target the champion from Bournemouth?
Juergen Uldedaj
“Any of them!” Responded Uldedaj. “I know this is a long career, and I’m only 26, and Don is still teaching me in the gym, but I’m a proud fighting man and would take any world title opportunity.
“First I want to entertain my fans on February 10th at York Hall and say thank you for their amazing support.”
Steve Goodwin
Prior to the fight, Goodwin Boxing will be hosting a press conference at the DoubleTree Hotel in Borehamwood (WD6 5PU) on Thursday 8th February. Head of Goodwin Boxing, Steve Goodwin, spoke of his excitement at working with Uldedaj.
“It’s easy to see why the fans have flocked to him. He’s exciting in the ring, always looking for stoppages and really heavy-handed. But he’s a great man too, he’s a dream to work with and we can’t wait to showcase him at York Hall.”
