Joe Joyce previews the Zhilei Zhang vs Joseph Parker fight
British heavyweight and former WBO interim champion Joe Joyce (15-2, 14KO) states his predictions ahead of this Friday’s showdown in Saudi between his former foe Zhilei Zhang and ex-world champ Joseph Parker.
The heavyweights will lock horns in the chief supporting fight to Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou in Riyadh on March 8, live on DAZN and Sky Sports Box Office.
‘The Juggernaut’ Joe Joyce was beaten twice by the powerful Chinese southpaw in back to back fights last year, both times knocked out in the first half of the 12-round championship contests.
‘Big Bang’ Zhang took the Londoner’s WBO Interim belt and mandatory status to the WBO world title, currently held by Oleksandr Usyk who is set to fight Tyson Fury on May 18.
Ahead of Friday fight night, 38-year-old Joyce, speaking exclusively to OLBG, gave his predictions for Zhang-Parker, “Zhang is a dangerous fighter. He’s very good and experienced and fast and tough. He’s got a good chin.
“I think Zhang might have too much power, speed and toughness for Parker.
“Parker’s best chance is to take him to the later rounds and get him tired.”
Joyce next fights on March 16 against Kash Ali on Frank Warren’s Magnificent Seven card in Birmingham.
