Joe Joyce claims the footage is not what it seems: “You didn’t see the rest of it”
Joe Joyce is set to make a return to the ring this Saturday, facing Kash Ali as part of Queensbury Promotion’s ‘Magnificent Seven’ event in Birmingham.
Joyce will be hoping he can put his recent struggles behind him, and break his two-fight loss streak as he takes on his fellow British big man.
Ahead of the fight ‘Juggernaut’ appears to have been targeted by ex-sparring partner Martin Bakole.
Bakole took to X, releasing footage of a sparring session between the two. The clip shows Joyce having his head guard knocked off as he seems to struggle to deal with the awkward combinations coming his way.
Speaking to Boxing Social, the Englishman revealed his feelings towards the leak.
“Yeah, disappointed. Spar should be private, and he’s just trying to gain some traction and trying to get a fight.”
The 38-year-old was quick to point out that the video shows only part of the spar, claiming that in actuality, the Congolese boxer was no match for him.
“You didn’t see the rest of it, like how he pulled out quickly from the spotlight halfway through the spar and me bashing him up, which like, I could release that footage too.”

Joyce has to get past Ali on Saturday first, however, he did appear to show some interest in a potential clash with Bakole later down the line.
“It’s all gone into his plan, it’s got people talking about it. I’m being asked these questions about it. He’s got his name out there, he’s been successful, I bit back. He’s fishing and he’s caught something.”
