Jermaine Osbourne-Edwards and Gully Powar ready to represent the Black Country this summer
Midlands super-lightweight champion Jermaine Osbourne-Edwards headlines BCB Promotions ‘Pride of the Black Country’ card.
BCB Promotions head back to the Hangar Venue in Wolverhampton on June 21st for ‘Pride of the Black Country’, a stacked card featuring five of the area’s best with more additions to follow.
Newly crowned Midlands Super Lightweight Champion Jermaine Osbourne-Edwards showed he can box as well as fight, outpointing the very tough Jamie Stewart, dropping him late in the contest back in February.
The 35-year-old southpaw who trains out of the Wolverhampton Boxing Club has made the Hangar his second home, and he knows another win could see him in the domestic title mix this year.
Unbeaten Gully Powar has put together an impressive nine-fight winning streak, and he will want to hit double figures in style.
The 21-year-old has already fought twice in 2024, both shut out points wins over six rounds, the most recent a whitewash of dangerous Costa Rican Jose Manuel Perez. Powar is keen to stay active as he sets his sights on his first title opportunity this year.
Former WBA World Title challenger Katie Healy steps through the ropes for the first time this year as she looks to put herself back at the top of the sport. The well-travelled 26-year-old put on a career-best performance last time out, beating Shelly Barnett over ten rounds in the Cayman Islands, and another world title opportunity could be in her grasp with another impressive performance on June 21st.
The same night Osbourne-Edwards won his area strap, Ryan Griffiths edged Lewis Morris to claim the Midlands Featherweight Title in a potential fight of the year contender. The 23-year-old from Dudley is now unbeaten in five and is full of confidence, regularly sparring Liam Davies, having recently returned from the IBO World Champions training camp in Tenerife.
Brandon Bethell’s army of fans will return to the venue that they descended on in huge numbers back in March. The unbeaten 22-year-old is yet to lose a round in his first three contests, and the TMA Trojan fighter is aiming to make it a fantastic four.
Tickets for ‘Pride of the Black Country’ are now priced at £40 and £80 VIP from the boxers directly or by emailing info@bcb-promotions.com.
