Jake Paul takes aim at Eddie Hearn for his empty promises
Jake Paul (8-1, 5KO) has been taking aim at rival promoter Eddie Hearn saying that ‘he promises a lot, but doesn’t deliver.’
27-year-old Paul is a YouTuber turned boxer who has become a huge star in the sport. He has increasingly taken on respectable challenges, first fighting MMA contenders, then knocking out the legendary Nate Diaz, and now taking on professional boxers, though he did controversially lose to Tommy Fury.
He is next out this weekend on March 2 in Puerto Rico against Ryan Bourland on a card that features Amanda Serrano in the main event. Paul would love to be able to promote a rematch between her and Katie Taylor, who is promoted by Hearn.
He has now been speaking about this and shared his outspoken views on the Matchroom CEO to Boxing Social.
“Well, you know, I think he’s a typical person in boxing. Says a lot, promises a lot, but doesn’t deliver. His mouth is bigger than everything else he does.”
He confirmed that there have been efforts to set up a rematch between Taylor and Serrano, but claims that it is ‘really difficult’ to work with Matchroom.
“Basically we have been trying to make that fight happen, all the negotiations and everything, it’s just really difficult to work with them.
“So it is what it is, but obviously, Amanda really wants the rematch, we want that to happen, but it takes two parties to make a deal so.”
