Prediction
Prediction from BBN’s Editor, Tim Rickson: “Eddie Hearn has labelled this fight “A horrific mismatch” and I have to agree with him.
“As WBO #2, a former world champion, unbeaten on Japanese soil; you can forgive the matchmaking, but in reality, it’s only heading one way. Inoue is looking at this fight as a way to settle into the weight before potentially moving up to chase more titles and records.
“As tough as the Irishman is, he has been dropped by far less powerful opponents, such as Michael Conlan, Sam Goodman and Daniel Roman. All those fights went the distance, so he has a lot of heart and superb survival instincts.
“TJ also has the power to KO opponents with a single shot, as 11-0 favourite Japhethlee Lladimo found out in the first-round of their 2023 fight, so he is a real threat and a potential banana skin.
“However, the speed, skill and strength of Inoue is unmatched. Even though his last four knockouts have come later in rounds six, eight, 10 and 11, I believe this ends early in rounds 1-3.”
