Frazer Clarke and Fabio Warley engaged in a heavyweight clash for the ages over the weekend, and now the fight is over “The Eraser” Clarke has shared a shock revelation of his British rival.
The battle for the British belt was a historic one, which ended in a draw, and with both boxers utterly exhausted having given their all over 12 thrilling back-and-forth rounds.
Defending champion Wardley’s nose was badly damaged and bleeding heavily, which left the canvas splattered with blood, and many are now calling for a rematch of what was a hugely entertaining battle.
There had been plenty of needle in the build-up to this fight, which had been brewing for some time and even involved some back and forth between promoters with regards to negotiations.
Now in a video shared by Sky Sports Boxing, 32-year-old Clarke has spoken out for the first time since the contest.
“There was a few times the fight had gone out of him and, I think, in the corner I think they were considering pulling him out, personally, but he’s a warrior.
“He wanted to stay on and fight. If he was going to go out he was going to go out on his back, A few more shots, if I didn’t fall in which I did a bit towards the end, I think he’d have been out of there.”
“I’ve been back to the gym this morning. I’d like to get back in the ring, definitely, and I want it to be against Fabio Wardley. Hopefully I get some good rankings and Fabio Wardley is what I want but I want to stay active.
“Ball is still in his court, he’s still the champion. But if that’s not to be I won’t stick around, I want momentum.”
