Francis Ngannou reveals his boxing wish list
Francis Ngannou (0-1) has become one of the most prominent names in the boxing world after just one fight and now he has named who he wants to end before the end of his short but remarkable career.
Famously, Ngannou is an MMA champion who ruled the UFC’s heavyweight division before making the switch to boxing last year. With little to no experience, he did fantastically well, keeping the WBC and lineal champion honest and unable to really set himself, and even putting him on the canvas in the third round. He eventually lost across the 10 rounds on points but now has another shot at glory.
This Friday, he takes on Anthony Joshua across 10 more rounds in Saudi Arabia with Joseph Parker versus Zhilei Znag on the undercard.
Should he be able to get the win against the odds, he will be in line to fight the winner of the undisputed world heavyweight championship on May 18 also in Saudi Arabia between his old foe Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Ahead of that he has been speaking to DAZN Boxing about who he wants to fight before he hangs up his gloves and has named former world heavyweight champion and fearsome puncher Deontay Wilder.
“Wilder still. This won’t end until I fight Wilder. And a Tyson Fury rematch. Potentially a rematch with AJ, I dunno, it depends how it goes.
“But yes, Tyson Fury, based on what happened the first time, the controversy, I think we need to sort that out. But yes, Wilder is still on my list.”
Should he beat Joshua, Ngannou will likely get exactly what he wants next.
