Floyd Mayweather sends picture of his large payment to the IRS
Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather has provided an insight into his immense income, revealing an eyewatering amount of money being sent to the taxman.
With Money in his name, Floyd Mayweather has long been known as one of the highest-paid sports stars on the planet. While he is now retired, the boxer-turned-businessman runs multiple different entrepreneurial ventures, including a recent line of signature vape pens.
However, with all high incomes, high tax brackets follow shortly behind. The 50-0 great recently took to Instagram to share a photo of the cheque he supposedly sent to the IRS.
The cheque was accompanied by a caption poking fun at how this is a far smaller sum than what he previously paid while he was active.
“Just before I paid that light million and change for that little Super Bowl stuff, I had to pay the IRS aka Uncle Sam $18,047,181. This is what I owed in taxes while I’m retired so just imagine what I was paying when I was activated.”
It was recently revealed that the 46-year-old appears to be returning to the ring again this year for an exhibition fight promoted by RIZIN. Mayweather is set to face off against Manny Pacquiao for a second time, in a repeat of their legendary 2014 meeting. The Filipino is currently in training for another exhibition bout in 2024.
The fight has not yet been officially announced, though is expected to be scheduled for the latter half of 2024.
