Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn are set to clash in April
Chris Eubank Jr. has called out bitter rival Conor Benn on Twitter, the platform now known as X.
The ‘Born Rivals’ are expected to fight on April 26 in London, but the warring sons are locked in a battle already – over contract terms.
Due to Benn jumping up from welterweight to meet Eubank at middleweight, there are rehydration clauses being put in place; something the Brighton boxer has decided to publicly call out his rival on.
Eubank tweeted: “Just so you all know… these two rats [Conor Benn and Eddie Hearn] are now trying to enforce a rehydration restriction on me to make the fight. They talk a big game but when it actually comes down to it… just a pair of [pussies].”
Benn replied back instantly: “You soft pr*ck! I’m coming up 2 weights to fight you and I’m the [pussy]. 10lbs rehydration because I’m already fighting a middleweight but you want to get in the ring as a light heavyweight? You are scared to death of Janibek [Alimkhanuly] and [Hamzah] Sheeraz so I’m your only option satsuma head.”
Benn added: “And this is something you and your team agreed to on Saturday so don’t try and make out this is new, stop being a pussy and sign the contract.”
Benn and Eubank were all set to fight in October 2022 until Conor’s multiple failed drug tests caused the event to be cancelled just days before, despite Matchroom trying to go ahead with the show still. Eventually the BBBofC refused to sanction the bout and Benn subsequently lost his licence, forcing him to fight abroad in the States instead.
The unbeaten welterweight from Essex boxer has only fought three times in three years, as a result of his ongoing investigations and legal cases to prove his innocence.
Eubank fought back to back bouts with Liverpool’s Liam Smith in 2023, losing the first, winning the second. Then, in his last fight, in October 2024, the Brighton boxer defeated Kamil Szeremeta to win the IBO World middleweight title.
