Eddie Hearn prepared if Adam Azim vs Dalton Smith doesn’t happen
Eddie Hearn continues to try and organise a fight for Adam Azim despite not being his promoter and has now said if he doesn’t fight his man Dalton Smith then he has a new opponent for him.
There has been plenty of back and forth between Matchroom’s Hearn and Ben Shalom’s BOXXER about this potential fight between two unbeaten prospects.
Adam Azim has been ordered by the BBBofC and the EBU to defend his titles to Dalton Smith, but Hearn believes that BOXXER will pull their man out, claiming he is not yet ready for Smith.
It is part of an ongoing war of words between the two promotional outfits that has also included disagreements over Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke, while Hearn has also taunted BOXXER that he would one day love their star man to fight on his platform.
Now, speaking to IFL TV, he has revealed his plans for Azim as per a clip shared on X.
“Once he gets pulled out of the Dalton Smith fight, Sam Jones might be annoyed at me for this, but Cameron Vuong versus Adam Azim. That is the fight to make. If Vuong comes through against Jordan Flynn in Manchester that is the fight we want to make. Massive fight for the north east.”
Newcastle lightweight amateur standout turned young pro Vuong stepped up in his debut against Ishmael Ellis in February and won by knockout in the sixth round.
Jordan Flynn immediately entered the ring afterwards to set up their fight on April 13 and should Vuong win it looks like he has another big challenge on the horizon.
