Eddie Hearn has spoken to Deontay Wilder’s manager about a fight with Dave Allen
Eddie Hearn has laid down a life changing gauntlet to Dave Allen with a potential fight against Deontay Wilder in the offing if he conquers Arslanbek Makhmudov on October 11.
The huge Heavyweight clash – broadcast live worldwide on DAZN – is heading for a sell-out at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena.
And Matchroom Sport chairman Hearn believes the ‘Cinderella Man’ Allen, who won his first title in his last fight against Johnny Fisher, is on course for more big fight nights in 2026, providing he can defeat the Canadian-based ‘Lion’ Makhmudov, who has 20 wins to his name, with 19 knockouts, having previously mixed it with the likes of Agit Kabayel, Carlos Takam and Mariusz Wach.
“If Dave Allen beats Makhmudov, he puts himself inline for some huge fights,” said Hearn, speaking on the latest episode of Matchroom Boxing’s Flash Knockdown Podcast.
“I like the Deontay Wilder fight, personally. We’ve reached out to Shelly Finkel [Wilder’s manager] to talk about that, but let’s see what happens on October 11 first.”
Last remaining tickets are on sale now – with full event details available at matchroomboxing.com.
Hearn is expecting the atmosphere to be rocking in the Steel City and hopes it will spur the ‘White Rhino’ on to his biggest career win to date.
“It’s going to be a packed out Utilita Arena in Sheffield,” Hearn added.
“It’s a massive night for Dave and as I say if he wins, he will waltz into the biggest fight of his career.”
