Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul press tour begins this month
With the weeks ticking by and Jake Paul’s controversial fight with Mike Tyson fast approaching, news has emerged of a press tour to help build hype.
This fight takes place in July as the first live sport to be streamed on Amazon Prime. It puts 27-year-old YouTuber turned boxer Paul against the 58-year-old Tyson in a fully sanctioned and professional fight.
News emerged recently that knockouts will be allowed in the contest, which is set to play out over eight two-minute rounds, and that no headgear will be worn and both men will be wearing the standard 14-ounce gloves.
This has worried many onlookers as Tyson has not fought properly in almost 20 years and he lost his last two contests, though he did have an exhibition with Roy Jones Jar a couple of years ago. Paul is much fresher and fitter is an active fighter who stopped his last opponent inside the first round.
A new message posted on X by Netflix has confirmed that a press tour will kick off on May 13 in New York City before heading to Texas, where the fight will be held, on May 16.
“GET READY. Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, Katie Taylor, and Amanda Serrano will meet face-to-face for two kick-off press conferences on May 13 in New York City and May 16 in Arlington, Texas.
Both conferences will stream live right here and on Netflix and MVP’s Youtube channels 🥊 #PaulTyson #TaylorSerrano”
The main event is sure to draw plenty of headlines, but the undercard also boasts a fantastic fight for boxing fans as Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano renew their hostilities and rematch the undisputed super lightweight title over 12 rounds of their own.
