Derek Chisora has one specific worry for Tyson Fury ahead of Oleksandr Usyk undisputed match
Derek Chisora is always in and around fighters and big fight weeks, and has now revealed that he has one major concern ahead of the epic showdown between unbeaten heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Chisora recently offered his perspective on the eagerly awaited undisputed title clash between Usyk and Fury, slated for May 18 in Saudi Arabia having been delayed from an initial fight date in February because the Brit sustained a bad cut in sparring that required stitches.
Chisora was the first man to face Usyk up at heavyweight and pushed him hard, while he has also fought, and lost, to Fury on three separate occasions. As such, he brings a valuable perspective to the table when discussing their skills and capabilities.
Speaking to Crypto Casino LTD, he explained his apprehension, “The cut could play a big factor in the fight. Has that massive cut managed to properly heal? It can make sparring difficult, you’d be cautious to open it up again. It’s a predicament.
“While Usyk is doing everything the right way, is Tyson doing his camp at 85 percent of what he would have been doing before he got the cut? Only his close team will know. Usyk is undoubtedly going to be targeting that cut.”
He then revealed who he would like to win the historic heavyweight fight, “I want the British man to win, 100 percent, but if you’re a betting man you’d have to think: this is the cut he had against Otto Wallin and it’s going to come back again.
“I think Tyson is going to have to box on his back foot. But then again he might drop Usyk with an uppercut.”
