Conor McGregor entertains ‘nixer’ bouts with Tommy Fury, Jake Paul and KSI
MMA icon Conor McGregor does not rule out a future showdown with an influencer boxer, saying that he hopes Mike Tyson takes Jake Paul’s nose off.
Ex-Disney star Jake Paul is set to take on ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson at the AT&T Stadium, Texas, on July 20.
The bizarre bout will be streamed live on Netflix, with former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion McGregor now throwing his name into the mix as well.
On Sneak Peek, the Dubliner said: “[A fight with one of] the YouTuber nerds – I would consider that a nixer. You know what a nixer is?
“In Ireland, let’s say you’re a tradesman, a carpenter or a plumber, and you work on a building site. You get a nixer – you do a side job, a side pay.
“I consider them guys to be nixers. If I was to pick one out of them… well, KSI has a big name in the UK.
“That [Jake Paul vs Mike] Tyson fight is just a strange one to me. I hope Tyson takes his nose off.
“You never know. I’m sure at some stage we’ll go through all of these guys.”
The ‘Notorious’ McGregor has been on a collision course with his UFC rival, Michael Chandler, for over a year, but the fight is yet to materialise.
With his long absence from MMA, the Irishman has been even further removed from the boxing world, as his blockbuster encounter with Floyd Mayweather took place way back in 2017.
However, the 35-year-old hints at a possible return to the ring, this time against a vastly untested fighter in Paul, or perhaps even KSI.
Both YouTubers have lost to Tommy Fury, another largely unproven fighter but a more respected figure in the boxing community.
Nevertheless, Paul will soon be laughing all the way to the bank after his clash with a 57-year-old Tyson.
