The fiery feud between Claressa Shields and Alycia Baumgardner heats up
World champion Claressa Shields has released a diss track that fires shots at fellow belt holder Alycia Baumgardner after the pair’s recent heated confrontation.
The long-standing animosity between Shields and Baumgardner erupted once again last weekend, while working as a commentator for the Richardson Hitchins vs Gustavo Lemos fight, Shields ran into Baumgardner which sparked a tense confrontation and reports have since suggested Claressa temporarily left her commentary duties to address Baumgardner directly.
Despite Shields returning to her role, the tension lingered. This ongoing feud has been marked by social media clashes and face-to-face confrontations and all comes down to the fact that the two are finding it hard to settle upon a weight class at which they can face each other.
Shields, boasting a pristine record of 14-0 with 2 knockouts including a win over Brit Savanah Marshall, holds the distinction of being a two-time Olympic gold medalist and a two-division undisputed world champion, and is cirrently competing in the middleweight division.
Conversely, Baumgardner, with an equally impressive record of 15-0 with 7 knockouts, also reigns as an undisputed champion, but in the junior lightweight division. The notable 30-pound weight gap between them makes it improbable for them to be matched in a bout any time soon.
Shields has now taken the beef into the music world and shared the new diss track, complete with video, on her account on X.
Additionally, Shields has publicly called out Baumgardner regarding her substance abuse, adding fuel to the already raging fire.
The pair even boarded the same flight as each other in January this year, which again saw the comhttps://www.essentiallysports.com/boxing-news-she-s-a-drg-cheat-claressa-shields-exposes-alycia-baumgardner-reveals-declined-fight-offer/batants clash in yet another confrontation.
