Chantelle Cameron names the top three opponents on her radar
Former undisputed super-lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron (18-1, 8KO) has revealed the full list of her targets over the next 2 months.
The 33-year-old from Northampton said, “Over the [next] 12 months, I want to say Katie Taylor because it’s one apiece and there’s unfinished business and I want my belts back.
“So, Katie Taylor, but obviously, if Amanda Serrano, if she beats her, which I think she probably will do, I would love a shot at my belts against Amanda because she’s another legend and it would be an honour to share the ring with her.
“And my third fight would probably be, there’s two, Tasha Jonas or Mikaela Mayer, I would love the winner of that fight.”
Cameron defeated Taylor as an underdog in the Irish woman’s back yard in Dublin last May. Bray boxer Taylor was able to exact revenge in the November rematch to become undisputed in two weight classes. The IBF later awarded the Cameron-Taylor 2 rematch as their Female Fight of the Year 2023.
Taylor has another rematch to complete, in November, against Amanda Serrano. The future Hall of Famers became the first females to headline at Madison Square Garden in 2022 and delivered a night to remember for all-time after an epic clash, which Taylor pipped via a split decision.
‘Miss GB’ Natasha Jonas is also heading towards a rematch, against American Mikaela Mayer, after the two fought to a razor-thin split decision, which the Brit just edged to retain her IBF welterweight crown in January.
