Carl Froch cusses Frank Warren after disagreement
Hall of Famer Carl Froch hits back at Frank Warren after the Queensberry Boxing promoter called him a “miserable b******” in an interview with BoxNation.
Warren responded to Froch’s comments – when the former world champion suggested that Saudi Arabia is ruining boxing – by defending his business in the Middle East.
While Warren raved about the atmosphere in Saudi Arabia for Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou last October, Froch has expressed a vastly different opinion.
On Froch on Fighting, he said: “I switch on social media again and Frank Warren is having a go at the Cobra, again, calling me a miserable b******. Brick Top, what’s going on?
“I’ve never been miserable. I’m always smiling; I’m always laughing; I’m happy; I’m smashing life.
“Since retiring 10 years ago, all I’ve done is enjoy myself, kept in my lane and just got down to business.
“I’ve just mentioned Saudi Arabia and the atmosphere, or lack of it… I’m just pointing out that Saudi Arabia boxing events lack atmosphere.
“I am saying what you guys are thinking, but you cant say it. Nobody wants to upset Brick Top; nobody wants to upset Eddie Hearn; nobody wants to upset the broadcasters.”
Froch mentioned the rematch between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr, highlighting it as an example of an event in Saudi Arabia that failed to garner an electric atmosphere.
The heavyweight clash, which ended in a unanimous decision win for Joshua back in 2019, was one of the first title fights to be staged in the country.
Since then, Saudi Arabia and, more specifically, Riyadh, has become the home of championship boxing.
Last month, Joshua returned to the city after defeating Otto Wallin in December, and destroyed Ngannou in the second round of their contest.
Now, fans look ahead to Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed crown, which takes place in Riyadh on May 18.
