Tim Bradley believes Canelo is holding all the belts hostage
Hall of Fame boxer Tim Bradley has fired a stern message to undisputed super middleweight world champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and warned him to ‘give up the belts’ having accused him of holding them ‘hostage.’
‘Canelo’ is currently the absolute super middleweight ruler, who holds the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO and Ring belts. They will all be on the line once more when he takes on Jaimie Munguia on Cinco De Mayo in Las Vegas.
Both men have recently fought John Ryder – Canelo failed to stop the Brit and instead won on points over 12 rounds, while Munguia got the stoppage in the later rounds.
In the build-up to that fight being announced, many hoped that Canelo would agree to fight a former super middleweight champion in David Benavidez who has been knocking out the likes of Demetrius André and Caleb Plant in impressive recent outings.
He also holds the record for the highest punch output in his fights, and for now will be moving up to light heavyweight in his next contest.
Now, in a video from ProBox TV, former world champion Bradley has called on Canelo to give up his world titles.
“Give up the belts. Stop holding the belts hostage, because there is other guys out there that’s deserving holding one of those straps and they’re willing to fight the best guys, including him, and that’s Benavidez, who I believe earned his right to face Canelo.
