BOXXER and BeTV extend their broadcast deal
BOXXER have announced the extension of its media rights partnership with BeTV in Belgium and Luxembourg, allowing fans across the territories to continue watching their events exclusively on the pay television operator’s platforms.
BeTV, formerly Canal+ Belgique, was launched in 2004 by Daniel Weekers and is headquartered in Brussels. BeTV’s diverse and premium programming offering includes the very latest and best in world cinema, exclusive series, documentaries, and world-class LIVE sport.
LIVE broadcasts of BOXXER shows will air on BeTV’s VOOsport World channels, in the French language.
BOXXER shows air LIVE and exclusively on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, and NBC Sports in the USA; and the promotion is home to a world-class stable of fighters including Joshua Buatsi, Richard Riakporhe, Chris Billam-Smith, Natasha Jonas, Ben Whittaker, Adam Azim, Caroline Dubois, and many more.
Commenting on the extension, BOXXER Founder and CEO Ben Shalom said: “We’re delighted to renew our partnership with BeTV in Belgium and Luxembourg. As our run of shows so far this year has demonstrated, this is set to be our biggest and best year yet at BOXXER, and we’re looking forward to building on our collaboration with BeTV, who are perfectly positioned in the market to showcase our shows and fighters to audiences across the region. The BeTV talent team know the sport inside out and they are a pleasure to work with.”
Chistian Loiseau, Director at BeTV said: “BeTV is delighted to continue its collaboration with BOXXER, enabling us to offer our subscribers the best in premium boxing events throughout the year. The quality of the programs we broadcast is our priority towards our subscribers, and BOXXER is a major partner in the achievement of this objective. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them.”
BOXXER’s next show will take place on 11th May in Cardiff, Wales, as Jessica McCaskill (USA) and Lauren Price (UK) clash for the unified WBA, IBO & Ring Magazine Welterweight World Championship. A fascinating match-up sees the highly-experienced, former undisputed world champion McCaskill take on home favourite Price – who has raced to 6-0 as a professional, having won Olympic, World, Commonwealth and European gold as an amateur.
The broadcast deal comes just days after another significant update was announced, as the McCaskill-Price fight was revealed to be available to view on BBC Wales for free.
